You’re So Sweet!

SeedsOfKnowA sd

Good morning! I’m sharing a quick card that could be used for so many occasions, I love versatility!!

This is ODBD Seeds of Knowledge, A+ Apples, Teacher’s Apples, all from the May release. Along with Bitty Blossoms, Double Stitched Pennant Flags, Pennant Flags, Snowflake Sky, Birthday Bash Collection, and Birthday Brights Collection.

The apple is colored with Copics, the edges of the flowers are lightly sponged with ink.

I elongated the pennants by cutting them  in pieces and hiding the spaces with the apple and the double ended pennant.

You’re A Class Act…

ClassActA ClipbdNotebk-open1

Today we’re looking back at the May release from Our Daily Bread Designs. I had a lot of fun creating this fun fold card using  Class Act, Notebook Paper stamp die/duo,  Clipboard Set, A+ Apples, Double Stitched Rectangles, Rectangles, Squares, Patriotic Collection, and Chalkboard Collection.

Here is the card closed

And all the way open. The Chalkboard Collection is fun to stamp and emboss the sentiments on, just like the old boards!

It was fun making the “3 ring binder” with tabs!

Each section has several blank pages for a hand written note.

I cut the scissors in silver and black to make them more realistic. For the magnifying glass, I used the die to cut part of a stamp package and glued it to the back side.

Good Teachers Should Be Appreciated!

It’s Teacher Appreciation Week! As a mom of 5, whose kids went to public school except for #5 who was homeschooled from middle school on, I sure appreciated those teachers!!

So, in their honor, I made this little set from Our Daily Bread Designs Class Act, Clipboard Set, A+ Apples, Notebook Paper stamp/die duo, and Birthday Brights.
I took the largest apple die and let it hang off the fold just a little when it cut, giving me a little apple card.

The middle size apple die is on the inside.

I wrapped a chocolate bar with a piece from Birthday Brights.

The notebook paper is stamped with Ranger Oxide Iced Spruce and Jet Black.

So, to all those teachers for ALL those years
who had my kids at Graham South and onward….
you are and were appreciated!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Here is School Bus Driver along with Double Stitched Rectangles, Rectangles, Double Stitched Circles, Circles, Double Stitched Pennant Flags, and Pennant Flags. I stamped the “thank you” sentiment on a piece from Birthday Brights.

This next sample uses a new stamp/die duo and die set that has sooooo many possibilities! Don’t just think “teachers”!

This Side Step card features the stamp set, Seeds of Knowledge, with the coordinating Teacher’s Apples dies! How cute is this Notebook Paper stamp/die duo and Clipboard Set!

I stamped the notebook paper with Ranger Cloudy Blue, the clipboard is cut from thin chipboard. I also used some polka dot paper from Old Glory, and Ovals for the sentiments.

I love the detail, everything looks so real, just in miniature form!

A Fancy, Floral Fan

Today I’m sharing a card made with the new Fancy Fan die stamped with one of the images from Lovely Flower. Each flower  is embossed with clear powder and some bling in the center.

When I cut each blade, I put a piece of heavy black cardstock and frosted gold cardstock together. The die cut perfectly through the gold, leaving the black not quite cut through so it made a perfect backing. The fan is layered on pieces from the Chalkboard Collection.

The tassel took me back to my macramé days, the end looped under the black brad that holds the fan together.

Looking Back at April’s Release from ODBD

Hello and welcome to this look back at April’s release from Our Daily Bread Designs!

I recently went to a scrapbooking show where one of the vendors was using coffee filters to make flowers. I couldn’t wait to get home and make some Roses! I decided to make 5 sided Luminous Lantern to attach them to.

I stacked 8 filters together for the flowers. The largest rose used all the dies except the small 5 petal center…. 32 layers! For each rose, after die cutting, I stacked the petals, then using my piercing tool and mat, poked a hole in the center. I cut a piece of craft wire, wrapping one end around the thin end of a small paintbrush several times to make a small coil, then stuck it through the hole in the centers of the flowers. This will assure that the flower holds together.

Then lots of separating petals, easy but tedious. {You need to pull the flower tightly against wire in the next steps.} I lightly spritzed each with water to shape, dried, then airbrushed with a Copic.
I applied a little glue along the petal edges and dipped in sugar dust. I sort of coiled up the excess wire under the flower and used tacky white glue to attach each to the lantern. I used the small center die for the little white flowers and added prills to the centers.

Once I got it all together, it just seemed like something for a wedding! So I added a Fancy Fan stamped with Lovely Flower.

The roses are so light and airy! I love how they turned out! These lanterns could have battery tea lights inside as table decorations, left as is, filled with so many things, or could even be the fancy box for your gift! Just tuck a gift card in some tissue paper inside!

All the April release info can be found on the ODBD blog, and be sure to visit my sister sticks. They made some awesome creations just for you!!
