Springing Forth from the Earth

BlkMagicTulips-sd

Ever since the release of this set, Tulips and the Daffodils set, I’ve wanted to try a little “black magic”, although it’s not the true technique where you stamp with white pigment ink and color.

BlkMagicTulipsWM2

I started by stamping and heat embossing with clear embossing powder, then colored with Prismacolor pencils. The verse is in gold. I also used Double Stitched Rectangles, and Pierced Rectangles.

Since this is an open image, obviously stamping with white ink wouldn’t have changed anything, but maybe next time I’ll try painting with white acrylic paint first then coloring!

This card was made for my dear mother-in-law who will be turning 99 on the 28 of this month!!

These Large Numbers dies are so fun! I love the size and pierced edges. The Celebration clear set will meet all your celebratory needs, and it also has the perfect verse from Psalms.
The greeting is embossed in gold.

I also used, Pennant Flags, which fit most of the sentiments, Double Stitched Pennant Flags, Circle Scalloped Rectangles, and Pierced Rectangles. I used Shabby Rose Collection, because my MIL loved flowers.

39th-WM

Someone is always celebrating their 39th, right?!

I used parts of the Large Numbers set for the oval and triangle from the zero and four. Even the pieces you’d throw away are usable, lol!

Also used, Birthday Brights, Pierced Squares, Squares, Double Stitched Pennant Flags, Pennant Flags.

Spring! Taking a Look Back at March

Megan-blk

Yes, Spring… and in Ohio that could mean any type of weather! I had daffodils blooming, NOW we have snow and cold!
But that doesn’t stop me from sharing these beautiful flowers as we take a look back at the ODBD March release!

MeganWM2

I used Surprise Box to make this fun birthday card for a friend. I filled it with Daffodils, and Tulips, using the coordinating dies, Daffodil and Tulip. I also used Grass Lawn, Vintage Borders, Mini Lable, stamping the background with Rope Background.

The flowers are colored with Copics.

My next sample uses God’s Blessings Coloring Pages, Circle Scalloped Rectangles, and Pierced Rectangles.

GodsBlessingsColorPgPS96-WM2

I used the largest die from Vintage Labels, cut a mask out of cardstock and also used the die in the cardstock, to sponge ink onto the verse. The pink layer edges are colored with the same Copics used to color the page.

Daffodils in the Snow

DaffodilsCircScallopElis-sd

This card certainly makes me think of weather in Ohio! One day we’re having short sleeve weather, the next…snow flurries! I have a bouquet in my kitchen window right now; love these first flowers of spring!

DaffodilsCircScallopElis-WM2

This is Daffodils and the coordinating die, Daffodil, along with Circle Scalloped Rectangles from this month’s ODBD release. I also used Pierced Rectangles, Snowflake Sky, and Mini Bow.

Our weather is supposed to change again, cold and snow! I guess I’d better go out and pick another bouquet!

Thanks for stopping by!

Spring is in the Air!….ODBD March Release

TulipsCircScal-sd

Hi, and welcome to the March release from Our Daily Bread Designs! It’s beginning to look a lot like Spring here in Ohio and this release makes me anxious for all my flowers to be blooming!

Before I get to my samples, here is the prize info!

Prize Information: Three randomly selected winners will each receive a $25 Gift Code to the ODBD Website  just for commenting on the Design Team cards! You have until March 2, 2017 at 9:00 p.m. EST to leave your comments on the Designers Blogs for a chance to win!  The Winners will be posted on the ODBD Blog on March 6th, so be sure to check back there to see if you won!

TulipsCircScal-WM2

This is Tulips, and Circle Scalloped Rectangles. There is a coordinating Tulip die, but I didn’t use it on this card. You’ll see some wonderful samples from the other Sticks though.
I stamped one image, masked it and stamped a second, colored with Copics, then masked them both and air-brushed the background. I cut “out of box” with my craft knife so the pieces just fit out of the frame.

I also used Pierced Ovals and Pierced Rectangles.

My next sample uses something completely new to ODBD, God’s Blessings Coloring Pages! 40 Designer coloring pages, 4 sheets of each design.

GodsBlessingsColorPgPhil4-WT2

The pages can be cut using the Rectangles die, but I chose to just use a ruler and black marker to make a faux mat around the colored image. I also used Pierced Rectangles.
